The structure of this, like a folk song, enables a story to unfold. How sad - the traveller implores with their lover to wait until they return, but it's not to be. They kept the dream alive, but it was all in vain.

I enjoyed arranging this with the different instrumentation and rhythms, allowing the song to change mood and speed according to the lyrics. The final build could only end one way – a change of key, which implies a resilience and defiance for the storyteller.
